Staging
and Configuration Centers
Centers such as these, which were designed and are using tools created
by the Countdown technical team, automate the configuration & staging
process. The device integration and software configuration is now automatically
performed in advance of site work. By implementing our software automation
tools, these centers can eliminate errors and greatly increase the productivity
of the field technician when they arrive at project sites.
Automated
Implementation Tools
Countdown’s goal is to make our clients more profitable by increasing
their sales and lowering their costs. Sales increase because our clients
can complete more projects, regardless of complexity, faster, better and
cheaper than any of their competitors. Costs decrease because Countdown
UASA tools, processes and services allow our any field-force to instantly
become “virtual experts” at whatever tasks they are assigned. The UASA
technology will automate the setup, configuration and testing of any equipment
that is configured via a console port, including client/servers systems,
wireless devices, networking equipment such as: hubs, routers, switches,
as well as voice products like PBX’s, carrier switches, etc. Setting the
process up is very quick; requiring hours not days or weeks, as it simply
captures how an expert would performs the task in the field. UASA tools
simulate the various problems likely to occur in the field and captures
how the expert handles the situation. The UASA Server distributes that
knowledge and client specific information either to the Configuration
Center or to the field force via “Data-Packages”.
Countdown
provides its clients with electronic access to specific configuration
data including asset tracking, inventory receipt, shipping status, configuration
and installation status. Similarly,Countdown’s customers have the ability
to communicate requested configuration changes electronically.
Countdown’s
automated configuration tools eliminate the likelihood of keyboard entry
errors and variations during configuration, thereby reducing long-term
support issues caused by having different staff handling configurations.
In addition, a database is created reflecting all Components configured
by Countdown. If an audit is required, it can be produced instantly. If
a component fails in the field, it can be replaced and regenerated exactly
as originally specified within minutes.
If
one were to draw analogies to a typical manufacturing business, Countdown’s
UASA software and process results in a higher yield from an organization’s
resources. This also results in standardized documentation, testing procedures
and asset tracking.
Experienced
Field Operations
The Countdown field operations group is responsible for delivery of all
of Countdown’s product and service offerings. This group of implementation
experts is responsible for managing and executing work at the client site.
This team brings together a broad set of skills and a deep base of knowledge
of the deployment business.
Effective
Project Management
Countdown will assign, for each project, a Project Manager who will be
the single point of contact and owner of overall responsibility for all
aspects of the project. Countdown’s Project Managers coordinate and take
responsibility for managing the logistics and details of each project.
These professionals team-up with the account management team and engineering
group. They are well versed in the Countdown approach to automating large-scale
rollouts.
